What personal data do we collect and why do we collect them? 

Comments 

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form in addition to the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to facilitate spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (otherwise known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The privacy policy of the Gravatar service is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile image is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media 

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images that include embedded position data (EXIF GPS). Visitors on the website can download and extract any position data from the images on the website.

Cookie 

If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in the cookies. They are used for your convenience so that you do not have to re-enter your details when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in, several cookies will be set to save your login information and screen display options. Login cookies last two days and screen display options cookies last one year. If you select ‘Remember me’, your login will last for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

How long do we keep your data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and related metadata are kept indefinitely. This is how we can automatically recognise and approve any subsequent comments instead of keeping them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, modify or delete their personal information at any time (except their user name which cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and modify this information.

What rights do you have on your data?

If you have an account on this site, or you have left comments, you can request to receive a file exported from the site with the personal information we have about you, including the information you have provided to us. You can also request us to delete all personal data concerning you. This does not include data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Liverpool World Centre is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. As an organisation we are fully committed to ensuring that consistent and effective safeguarding procedures are in place.  Our staff and volunteers all undertake appropriate training and are DBS checked.
